Soot Deposits

The ash deposit on heating sufaces are called soot deposit.

Fused slag deposit are formed on furnace wall and other surfaces exposed to predominantly radiant heat.

High temperature bonded deposit occurs on convection mainly covective superheaters and reheaters.

Low temperature deposits in the temperature zones such as the economisers and air heaters is associated with condensation of aacid or water vapour on cooled surfaces.
